Puppet Strings Clay Co. started as a side hustle back in 2018. Of course, it wasn’t a side hustle at first. For Alanna it began as a type of therapy after having her first child. One class and she was hooked - she’s been in the studio ever since. After 10 years of working behind a screen as a Graphic Designer and artist, she decided it was time to pursue her passion in ceramics full time in 2023. Since then, it’s been a non stop ride from teaching classes to attending shows and festivals to sell her work.

Alanna focuses on bringing a fun and whimsical aesthetic to her pieces, inspired by the culture and soul of the jam band scene which she has immersed herself in for over 15 years.

If she’s not in the studio, you can find her selling her pottery at festivals and shows throughout the southeast.

Alanna is a single mom to 3 girls, and takes pride in showing them that through perseverance and determination, you can do what you love and never work a day in your life.
